How can we help?
Email ryan@placeset.app and a human — usually the founder — will get back to you within one business day. Include the email on your Placeset account if it's account-related.
Common questions
- How do I manage or cancel my Placeset Plus subscription?
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone → your name → Subscriptions → Placeset, or the Manage subscription button inside the app's Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Plus until the current period ends. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- How do I delete my account?
- In the app: Settings → Delete account (at the bottom). It permanently removes your account, menus, lists, and family membership; published community recipes stay, anonymized. You can also email us and we'll complete deletion within 30 days. Note: deleting your account doesn't cancel an active subscription — do that in your App Store settings first.
- Why is my weekly menu showing dishes I can't eat?
- Check Settings → Tolerances (hard exclusions like allergies — you can add your own, e.g. “cilantro”) and Health goals. Tolerances are enforced on every menu, list, and AI suggestion. If something still slips through, email us with the recipe name — we treat that as a bug.
- How do families work?
- One admin creates the family in Settings and shares the invite code; up to 4 members join and see the same weekly menu and shopping list. Only the admin edits the menu or changes household settings. Members can leave anytime; the admin can remove members.
- What's free and what needs Plus?
- Free forever: weekly menus, shopping lists, budgets, cook mode, nutrition, and the community. Placeset Plus unlocks the AI concierge — “Ask for anything” menu edits, occasion menus, Pantry-to-Plate, and the mid-recipe sous-chef.
- Is grocery delivery available?
- Not right now — delivery is temporarily paused while we finalize the fulfillment experience. Your shopping list works great in-store in the meantime.
- How accurate are the costs and nutrition numbers?
- They're honest estimates: costs come from supermarket-typical pricing adjusted monthly for food inflation, and nutrition is computed from USDA data. Both are labeled approximate — actual store prices vary.
